Stephen is a local from Dundalk and joined the team in 2014. On completing his leaving certificate in 2007 Stephen moved to Dublin and attended Dublin City University where he graduated with an Honours B.Sc. in Sport Science and Health. He then went to England where he completed his Masters in Physiotherapy at the University of Essex. Stephen spent 8 months training in various hospital and private practice settings including orthopaedics, neurological trauma, musculoskeletal, and respiratory care. Since qualifying Stephen has completed additional training in dry needling, sports first aid (pitchside), bio-mechanical assessment, and grade five manipulations . Stephen is a registered member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and the HCPC in the UK.
During his time in Dublin Stephen worked as a fitness instructor at DCU Sport where he trained athletic populations, cardiac rehabilitation groups, and paediatric populations with intellectual disabilities. Stephen comes from a strong sporting background playing hurling for Naomh Moninne HC and he is currently a member of the Louth Senior Hurling Panel.
He has also spent time this year as the physiotherapist for both the Geraldines and Na Piarsaigh GFCs.
